NAME BRAND, BEST PRICE, BEST QUALITY

I needed an extra towel ring to match my existing Moen towel rings, and this is exact one. Great quality, and the husband says it installed easier than any other he's done. Walmart had the best price, and delivery was sooner than expected.

terrible mounting system

Installed per the rather poorly written instructions. Within a month the towel ring was pulling away from the wall. The cheap flimsy drywall anchor appears to not have expanded as it should and is now toast. Worse, I cannot disconnect the towel ring base from the wall mounting bracket. If I could do that I might be able to re-mount it using better hardware than should have been used in the first place. Don't know why Moen went with this fancy, cheaply made mounting hardware when the simple, reliable mounts that I've installed 20+ years ago are still going strong.

Great Look but poor design of hardware

We love the look of the Eva line of bathroom hardware, including the open ring design of this towel ring which matches that of the sister toilet paper rings (making it much easier to swap out TP roll). So, it would have been 5 star rating for the look. But the hardware has proven problematic. The "Pro+fit" design Moen has started using may be great for the installation contractors (their promotional material touts that it was designed with input from that group), but for the owner who may have to remove it from the wall, it is awful. You are supposed to insert a screwdriver to push in a plastic tab that you cannot see and then pull the base away from the wall. Sounds simple, but to get the base to keep snug to the underlying portion which is attached to the sheet rock, you have to pull so hard that it seems you will damage the sheet rock. Some reviewers have had that problem, so my fear is not unfounded. Thankfully, I did finally manage to pop it off the base and could then see how it attached. So I'm not a fan of "Pro+fit" design, especially if contractor does installation and owner never sees how it works. Would help if Moen would at least post online what the mechanics of the inside look like so owners can more easily determine exactly how it all works. However, the biggest issue is with how the ring attaches to the base portion. There is a set screw that holds the ring on. Again, sounds good in theory. In practice, however, the set screw tends to loosed over time, given that ring itself swivels so screw may back out a tiny bit. Of the seven rings we had in our house, five of them became loose within one year and started falling off. Apparently installation contractor had not secured them tightly enough. I had to buy a new screwdriver to tighten it down enough, as I could not get enough leverage to tighten it enough with a tiny screwdriver that I would normally use. (And my allen wrench set didn't have a tool small enough for the screw.) This explains why installation contractor also had difficulty--again a poor design with too small a screw to get it in tighlty enough.
