I'll be wearing these non-stop

I desperately needed new shorts for outdoor activities, so I bought 3 different models of Columbia shorts to try. Happy to say I kept them all, and I like them all, but the Bogata Bay model was my favorite. I compared this one to the Sandy River short and the PFG Backcast Water short. For reference, I'm 5'6" and weigh 185 with a pear-shaped body. I got size XL. All 3 pairs fit, although they are just barely big enough to wear without pulling across the pockets. Since I'm losing some weight, I didn't want to get a bigger size. These shorts beat out the others because of the stretchy fabric. They are the most comfortable and look the best on me. The fabric is smooth and lightweight, and the drawstring and pockets are welcome features. I suspect these are the shorts I'll be reaching for first for walking, kayaking, gardening, and other outdoor activities.

3” inseam, sporty and flirty

I'm 5'4” and 120lbs and the small, 3” inseam fit perfect. I love the teal color. Makes my leg tan look even nicer. Fabric is light and stretchy but feels strong. I can have them sit lower on my hip. Covers my backside but I like how it swoops higher on the leg on the side. Sporty and a little flirty feeling.

Really great for hot weather.

I've been wearing these shorts over a month now and love them. So comfortable and light, and especially perfect for hot weather. I like the 3” length which allows full movement and doesn't bind anywhere. There is still enough room for small pockets, which I need for tennis. One ball will stay in the pocket but not 2. Would probably work for pickleball too. I wear them for anything and tennis.
