It is a nice hat but when I hang it upside down, it looks grumpy. I was not prepared to have a grumpy-looking hat. Despite that, it seems to enjoy being a hat. It has not mentioned that it wants to identify as, say, an ostrich. In fact, it doesn't talk at all. I suppose that's a plus as hats go. Ask me in a year or so what I think of the hat. I am hoping that it will cheer itself up.

I fold-up the hat and store it in my daypack for when it is needed. It has a chinstrap that can be adjusted so that the hat can't be blown off my head during windy weather. When it gets sweaty or dirty, I just throw it in the laundry with my other clothes and it come out totally fine. The hat protects my head and neck from the sun and the rain.
