This Is A Great Machine!

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) My Troy-Bilt 3 stage snowblower is the 2021 model with the joystick chute control, heated grips, "power" steering. I have gone through slush, WATER, light snow 12-32 inches deep, and packing (heavy) snow as well. We have had some unusually large drops in the past two seasons, and this snowblower makes a joke of it all. Last Feb we got 32 INCHES of snow here by lake ontario, and this machine handled it with ease, including a five foot high by five feet wide snow plow blockage at the mouth of our driveway, that was nearly ice!. Perfect power, torque. Easy oil add/change. I don't understand the one star ratings, and had to write this. I bought at Canadian Tire Canada, for 50% off too!! A week later it got the biggest test it could. Drift cutters worked as should. I would like to see an option for better tires mine are solid, and have cross treading instead of traps and gutter air filled. If they come up with an option similar to that I would buy those for my machine, but KEEP it for sure. The new machines of this model look like they reverted back to the winding and control on arm chute controls on the dash, which is too bad because the joystick is awesome!! I would recommend this or any Troy Bilt machine in a New York minute. This review is written for the love of the machine only. I dont know anyone who sells or fixes them, and wasnt asked to, or was paid for the review. I simply love my snowblower and wanted to share the better side of a review as well.

Good Snowblower

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Purchased in 2020 and owned for 2 years now. Very powerful machine. I live on Manitoulin Island Ontario and we get a lot of lake effect snow. This unit will blow a full chute no problem. the 3 stage doesn't climb up and will stay down when blowing plow banks. I would give it 5 starts, but the stock "run flat" tires that came with the unit at the time sucked and I needed to mount chains on them. The standard light bulb keeps vibrating to the point of burning bulbs, so I mounted a separate LED light on the unit. The belts are a bit of a pain to change, as you have to pry the friction wheel a bit to squeeze it past the shaft nut. The belts are only 3/8 and 1/2" and could be a bit heavier duty. I never broke one but did wear one out after one season. As long as you replace belts every spring if the unit gets lots of running, you should have no problem. The auger can plug up with wet heavy snow, that is the downfall with the 3rd stage. You just have to take it a bit slower in the wet stuff. I find, lubing your box and auger with silicone spray once in a while helps with sticking snow. The press pins on the chute control shaft fell out on me and I replaced with a collar pins that won't fall out. Good machine otherwise.
