Before I made my purchase of this Ceramax Electric Hot Pot 1.5L I did read 1 star review, but I believe there is something important to know about hot pots and other Inductive type of electronic dishes, make sure to plug it in directly to the wall outlet. Never use extension cords, especially not ones that doesn't have the proper AMP RATING. There could be loose connections internally as well, but I believe the main issue is not plugging it in directly to wall outlet. I use my pot in my RV where I have my own Power bank, so I live off grid. My meter shows 800 Watts of draw on high setting, and about 450 Watts of draw on low setting. Never an over cooked or burned meal with this pot. I love it and I can recommend to nomads like myself. I purchased this pot for the portability in mind. I have E-Banks that run on 4000 Watts Super Capacitors combined with 200 AH LiFePo4 batteries inverted by a 3500 Watts 30 Amp capacity shore power connection to my RV and with minimal 200 Watts of solar charge I can run it continuously for hours at a time to cook a stew or vegetable soups or just make some quick eggs and so. My E-Bank is portable and I can Travel with it, so I can make hot water for my coffee in a jiffy, the ease of use is the focus in any aspect of my life. After use mostly doesn't even need cleaning, just wipe it clean with a paper towel and it is good to go. Cholesterol concerned consumers can use this pot without fatty acids(oil, butter etc...) to cook with. I hope this will help for others to make decisions at the time of purchase. It would be vise for the manufacturer to inform the consumers of the above mentioned points like Watts that this pot draws and for safety to plug it in directly to WALL OUTLETS. Enjoy!

The quick consistent heating amazes me every time. It's cool on the outside, hot on the inside and the handle on the lid really helps me to pick it up in a way that doesn't burn my hand from the escaping steam. It's a great value for the money and we use it a lot!
