It's portable, portability with a leash

This air conditioner is called "portable." It has wheels, which supports that theory. But it also has a giant hose that must be attached to a window. So, it's portable in the same way a dog on a very short chain is "free." It can go anywhere, as long as it's right next to the window. It's a 3-in-1 machine, which is efficient. It cools, it fans, and it dehumidifies. Right now, I'm just using the "cool" setting, and my 250-square-foot room is now significantly less tropical. The "auto evaporation" feature is my favorite. It claims the water just... goes away. I choose to believe this. It's like a magic trick for humidity. It works. It's a bit loud, but it's the sound of victory over the sun.

Does, the job and it's quiet! This my second ge portable AC and both work great. It also is a bit more compact than other models. Made the mistake of ordering a cheaper competitor's portable AC and boy was I disappointed. It didn't cool properly and was so loud, I had to return it to the seller. Thank goodness, after returning the defective portable AC, I spotted this GE portable AC on sale at Walmart. I bought it ASAP and am so glad I did. I highly recommend this GE portable AC, it's great!

Great little unit !

Very nice little unit ! We bought it (ordered online) to cool a metal storage building (12 x 16) which holds some items that heat and humidity would ruin. The Eco mode is great allowing us to set an appropriate temperature and then forget it. We did buy one, and when it was delivered and set up, it didn't work - disappointed at that. We took it to a local WalMart store, returned it, and got a refund almost immediately. But, the features were so great, we decided to order another one just like it. Well, the second one works like a charm. Definitely recommend....
