mild flavor, economical

I bought this brand and another at the same time, my reason was to try both and see which I liked better. Price wise, this was more economical than the other, it has very little, if any, coconut flavor . That can be a huge plus if you want the recipe to not be overpowered by it. It melts easily and quickly, blends in like regular shortening. It's shelf stable and doesn't need any special handling for storage.

Very good value

It is difficult to find coconut oil in this size, usually smaller and more expensive is what's available. I use this product because it has a higher heat capability and it is assumed good for us. I find when using this oil cleanup is a lot easier too.

Multi Uses

I'm happy this coconut oil is non-GMO and a certified organic product. It's also gluten-free. It is made in the Philippines and bottled in the USA This is a 28 fluid ounce (828ml) jar of solid coconut oil. This coconut oil is liquid at above 76 degrees and solid in below 76 degrees. You can use this coconut oil to cook in up to 425 degrees. Doesn't need to be refrigerated My husband tries to ingest a teaspoon of coconut oil daily by putting it in his coffee or hot tea. It contains a medium chain fatty acid (Triglycerides) that helps increase immunity, fight infections and boost energy. You could also add a teaspoon of melted coconut oil to the blender when mixing up a smoothy. I don't use coconut oil for cooking and I don't ingest it. But I have a thyroid disorder which causes dry skin and hair so I've been using coconut oil for the past 2 years in homemade skin and hair care recipes. Sometimes I'll apply it to my skin straight from the jar. I just warm it up in the palm of my hands until melted and then massage it into the skin on my face, arms, legs, feet, heels, elbows, etc. I also use it as a moisturizer for under and around my eyes. Since this coconut oil doesn't have a scent I don't have to worry about leaving my house smelling like I'm slathered in coconut-scented suntan lotion. Here's a body wash recipe using coconut oil that I'd like to share; Coconut Body Wash Recipe Ingredients: 2 cups unscented liquid castile soap 1 cup rose water 3 Tablespoons melted coconut oil 15-20 drops lavender essential oil (or your choice) {If you don't have rose water you can make your own by mixing 12 drops of rose oil with 1 cup of distilled water} Instructions: Add castile soap, rose water, coconut oil, and lavender oil in a quart sized container. Shake to combine. Pour into a small squeeze bottle or container to use in the bath and shower. Squirt onto washcloth, bath pouf or directly on your body. Give your bottle a gentle shake before each use.
