Purchased this for my 5-year-old grandson. As a science teacher, I am impressed with the quality of this microscope. Included are interesting, prepared slides but I pricked my finger to create a slide of the drop of blood and actually saw the cells! For the price, it is amazing quality for a first microscope. The case holds everything in a foam cushion, so the instrument is well protected.
