I've only used this as a monitor, so I can't comment on any software/channel guides/ etc... As a monitor, I've had no issues using an hdmi port for both picture and sound. It is a great size for an older person more in need of screen size than anything else. I bought for $188 tax ($200 total) and consider that an absolute steal for a 40 inch pc monitor.

Good clarity and color easy installation
You can easily connect to your android phone and remote control it. There are a lot of Apps that already installed so you just login and the TV is ready to use. The picture, color and clarity is awesome. This is the perfect size if you want to put it in your room. The price is competitive and the quality is good.
