The groovy light show is worth the 30 bucks in itself. I bike to work at night in NYC, and I put the speaker in my mesh backpack so those behind me can see me. The sound quality isn't spectacular as compared to the JBL brands, but perfectly fine to use in the out of doors. The sound is loud and adequate while riding my bike as I am not too particular since I am not in an enclosed space.....and people can hear me coming which is also a plus in an urban environment. Definitely worth the money. :)
