A & L Furniture Jamesport 7.3 ft. High Wood Arbor

I am very happy with this arbor. It is sturdily made and nice looking at the same time. I was happy to find this as I needed to cover a 6 ft walkway and needed something strong and large enough for 2 grapevines. I ordered the unfinished to save myself some cash. The item arrived packed very carefully on a ""top of stack"" pallet. The wood is very nice, straight grained, not a single knot, split or flaw. Came finished ready to paint. I used an outdoor grade stain/waterproofer. Due to the lattice (used a sponge brush to keep from making a total mess) it took about 4-5 hours total to finish. It is not easy to get stain into the groove that holds the lattice, so maybe next time I would buy it finished. Set up was a piece of cake, very happy with how well built and fitted the pieces were. I needed help to put them in place, as the side pieces are both heavy, but everything fit perfectly and all the predrilled holes lined up exactly. The best assemble it yourself item I have EVER purchased, this was just perfect. It took about 20 minutes to assemble on site once it was set in place. The instructions were rudimentary, but how much help does one need for a simple job like this? Only criticism: as the bottom two screws holding the arches to the crossbrace are close to the brace, I was unable to use my driver and had to hand tighten those fastenings. Please lovely Amish wood workers, move those holes up about 1/2"" next time? Of course I cannot comment on durability yet, but will update.
