the ties are very sturdy

it has ties instead of a zip closure! I have been wanting anything but a zip closure because they break/fail so easily, I was happy to come across this one with bow ties. The ties are pretty sturdy and securely attached to the duvet cover, they are also a decent length. I can't speak for longevity yet but I'm happy about the tie closure.
