player works great for us
I have 2 of these players, and while they are larger in size, they both work without issues. Took an adapter them connected to my older TV's due to the TV not hte player... in the year+ that we have had them we have had no issues and they both play dvd's and vhs perfectly. I like that they have the play/stop/etc buttons on the front - for each side, so if the remote is misplaced it can still be used. I recommend this player.

Disappointed
I'm only giving this a not so good review because the instructions were not clear to me but then maybe it was just me. I couldn't figure out how to connect it to our big screen & our cable box. I had the old type of machine that you connected the coax cable to set it up these new machines don't have that any more. So I took it back to the store and am using one of the combo dvd/vhs from another room in our house with the connections of the old style.

Poor workmanship!
This product was not put together properly. The tray for the VHS tape would not allow the tape to be inserted. It was returned. Stars were added to this review out of necessity!
