I was pleasantly surprised with how well this scale functions. It reports a consistent value regardless of where I place the weighted item. I mostly weighed electronic devices and batteries, using their stated weight to test for accuracy. oftentimes, the value was exact, with the occasional 1-gram margin of error on items over a pound. Only a couple of times did I experience a 2-gram difference with the heavier items. I personally don't do much cooking, so I cannot attest to how well it performs in a kitchen setting. However, I believe it will work wonderfully for the average person needing a reliable scale for everyday use.
