Long-time Customer Misses the Store
I am a big fan of The Art of Shaving and am so sad that they no longer have any physical locations. I have been using the products for over 25 years and they are still outstanding. I don't know where I would be without the pre-shave oil. I use it almost every day while shaving in the shower. The after shave balm & moisturizer is amazing. Four pumps of product is plenty for covering my face, neck and upper chest and the Sandalwood smells great! I have given Art of Shaving gifts to friends and family and they are so appreciative. I need a new razor because the razor mechanism is finally (after 20 years) beyond repair after dropping it countlesss times LOL. I love the black pearl handle but am not sure the head can be repaired, so I'm in the market to replace it. I decided to write this review in advance of my purchase today knowing that I will find a quality replacement.. Hopefully, this review will bring additional business to The Art of Shaving.
Out from under the rock
Ok I've tried it ALL, everything anyone suggested until now. I don't know if there's better shave products on the market, if there are please include me in the loop. I chose unscented bc I rather not have anything interfere with my cologne's fresh scent and thought that would be the safe bet. This all starts with the prep work as with anything worth doing. I must admit before I was in the "know" I used baby oil as a pre-shave oil and I thought it worked well until now. Now on to the shaving cream, I'm not sure what's in this stuff but it expands like crazy. I only used a finger tip in my brush and I swear it was too much and felt like a waste. I have the large jar of shaving cream and Im confident in saying its a easy years supply, NO KIDDING!! Now I hate shaving bc of the after burn, not anymore! If I was TAOS I would guard the ingredients of this after shave bottle like KFC's 15 herbs and spices. The burn is GONE, my face doesn't feel raw, and I'm just as happy as can be. I'm not one to use different products for this, that, and the third but ill buy these with pride. Btw the brush in this kit is just the icing on the cake.
Better way to shave
My wife surprised me with this kit. She upgraded the brush and swapped the cream for the soap. I had never shaved with all of these products ever. Speed in the morning was the way to go. Faster isn't better, it may take a little longer to shave in the morning but it is a much better shave. I can never go back to foam in a can ever again. More men need to try these products. You will not be disappointed.
