FINALLY Spektrum!

While you guys are very late to the game, this receiver is tremendous. I was waiting for a receiver to compete with the Frsky products that you guys just would not release, until now. It has everything; RSSI (they should mention this in Features because it would stop a lot of confusion), Vbat battery voltage (does not seem to sound alarm when doing a punchout!!!) , diversity antennas, lap timers and more. It is everything the X4R has but is compatible with a higher quality transmitter IMO (albeit a little less range but PLENTY for proximity ((got over 1km)) and it has rssi anyway) Overall a great buy especially for 40 bucks now. I'll sum it up here: if you want a KILLER link, opentx, better telemetry compatibility with FCs, and don't mind the cheap feel of the radios, then go Frsky. If you want a super easy to use and functional UI, superb quality radio, and can mind a slightly weaker link, than go Spektrum. I chose Spek and will never switch.

Great as mentioned above.

Spektrum is starting to catch up. The market growth is in quads. Very fast rate of developing technology. Product life is now less than 6 months. Only downside is: could you spare a bind plug for 40 bucks. Binds to DX9 easily with a spare airplane rx and that missing bind plug.

Telemetry is great

The signal strength telemetry is something I thought I'd never use. However I lost my favorite custom built quad yesterday and could not hear the beeper. The RSSI signal strength gave me a clear indication as to which direction the quad went down. Walking toward the quad gives increased signal strength, walking away obviously gives decreased signal strength. Since I was using goggles during the flight, I didnt see where the quad went down. But the RSSI telemetry told me when I was getting closer to it, so I managed to walk in the right direction until I could finally hear the beeper (which was buried in the grass). Great function!!
