COVERGIRL The Super Sizer Big Curl Waterproof Mascara, 825 Black

I was going to give this a 1 star at first - I will always try Covergirl products but this one was less than pleasing (on first impression.) I paid almost $6 so I figured, well, I have to find a way to make this work. If you use this on its own, it's a horrible mess. Seriously, terrible. But... you can apply this over other mascara that you put on before, and use this as a second coat to waterproof your previous choice. It flared my lashes pretty nicely after I applied my other mascara first, and used this after. I think this would be a good choice for someone wearing fake eyelashes and wanted to blend them into one another. So, overall, the first day I used this by itself was awful terrible stuff. The second day I tried it was alright. Won't buy again but it's worth a shot with a more experienced makeup-person. Also, the wand is massive. Not easy to work with.

I remember purchasing the Cover Girl Supersizer with this curved applicator a few years ago and totally loving it. After experimenting with a few other mascara options, I recently decided to repurchase this one and give it another try. Unfortunately, I'm finding it much more difficult to work with this time around. I suppose they either changed the formula or I got a dud. The brush picks up way too much product that if I apply it straight from the wand onto my lashes it is way too clumpy and messy. So, instead I have to really spend time to scrape off excess product from the bristles of the wand to make it usable (which is a bit of a nuisance time-wise and also makes me sad to waste so much product). But - after all that work, the product does look great. It lasts fairly well even though hours of dancing and doesn't flake on me. But I really wish it worked straight out of the bottle and that I didn't have to waste so much product!
