Aoyue 474A has numerous major issues

The unit I received did not have a date sticker on it. The manual is written in good clear English, however it has sentences that have been truncated in the middle, and does not cover some topics such as how to mount the stand on the box. Parts are not identified clearly. Tips are not tinned, and do not get wetted by solder. This means it cannot do a good and timely job of heating the solder pads. I set it to 450'C. The temperature inside the tip went up to 400'C after 10 minutes of waiting. When I pulled the trigger for 2sec it dropped below 300'C, then rose back up to 360'C and stayed there, even after another 10 minutes. The holder for the drill bit is the worst tool I have seen, worse than the worst you could get at Radio Shack even 20 years ago.
