CHI Retractable Cord Iron, Titanium-Infused Ceramic Soleplate, Black, 13106F

The CHI Iron with Retractable Cord is an excellent clothes iron. My first thought on seeing it was 'wow! it's big'. But then I realized that its size was due to the retractable cord compartment, which also adds some weight to it. Once you get over the size and weight and start using it, it is a dream of an iron. It actually looks like a professional tailor's iron and the silver, gray and red colour just add more of a professional look to it. Its titanium ceramic soleplate is gold and the iron just have an overall professional, appealing design and feel. It starts heating within 3 seconds and I love the fact that it accounts for all different kinds of fabric, from synthetic to cotton and linen. The retractable cord when pulled all the way out is a little over 8 feet, giving ample room to move about when ironing. Its turn-off feature is a big plus for me and it works. Left on its soleplate it turns off in 60 seconds. If you are using it at the time when it is on its soleplate, it gives a warning by the light blinking after 30 seconds so you just need to change its position. Left on the heel-rest, it turns off in 30 minutes, which is a relief for anyone who has ever had the worry of wondering if they left the iron on. It is a well-designed iron as I have never before had an iron with a heel-rest that had a slip-resistant rubber feature. Yet another big pro for me with this iron. Its self-clean button - yes, yet another plus. I have extremely hard water so I am very appreciative that this iron make provision for a situation like mine with the option being of using hard water and distilled water alternatively. It is not your typical pointed/triangular front-tip iron either. Its tip is shaped like a bird beak (I just cannot remember which bird) that I did not think would make much of a difference until I started using it and realize that the design of this iron's front-tip makes it a much better iron for getting into seam corners (see picture). It really makes a big difference as it got right up into the corners without any threat of damage to the clothing Excellent design. Excellent features. Nice, professional look.
