Simple, clean design but don't care for ribbing

Overall, I like these rods a lot. I bought them for their simple design and desirable price point and they were really easy to install. The only reason I gave them 4 out of 5 stars is because I don't care for the visible ribbing of the connector pieces. It makes them easy to screw together, but takes away from the sleek finish. I considered returning them, but didn't notice the flaw until they were up so I decided I could live with them rather than going through the hassle of taking them down. Regardless, I thought other buyers should take this into consideration if they are expecting a seamless looking extension.
