18 Til I Die (CD)

I had long admired Bryan Adams as a songwriter and peforming artist but in 1996 18 TIL I DIE made me a die-hard fan for life. While this album seemed to start a sales decline for Bryan in the States with everchanging music trends coming and going all around it - this record simply sounds like a Bryan Adams record and you shouldn't expect anything else. The title track "18 Til I Die" could possibly be a sequel to "Summer of 69'" with the true message that you are only as old as you feel or live it. "The Only Thing That Looks Good On Me Is You" and "I Wanna Be Your Underwear" shows a humorous side to Bryan while "Let's Make A Night To Remember" should be played somwhere alone with that someone special. The standout track for me on this album overall is "I'll Always Be Right There" which ended up being the song that me and my wife danced to at our wedding. It's what Bryan does best - the power ballad. "Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman" appears here also which had been released as a single from the DON JUAN DEMARCO SOUNDTRACK a year earlier before this album was released. It currently is the last number one single for Bryan here in the States to date sadly.
