I have a rescue dog and he is somewhat maladjusted. Twice in the last year he has urinated on my bed and it meant washing everything. I have a mattress cover but, obviously, that does not protect the spread, blankets, and sheets. This item is the answer for that problem. I no longer worry when I see him enter the bedroom that disaster may strike. If for no other reason, it protects your spread and keeps it clean from the dirty paws. I now live stress free since purchasing this. It is somewhat thin, but well worth the peace of mind it brings.
