Yet another Sony repackaging of older material, SUPER HITS is one in a large series of country greatest hits albums. Although it contains great music, six of the ten songs here are the same as on the previously released, and still available hits package ENCORE. One wonders why the label didn't just release the original albums. Of the songs not included on ENCORE, "Something To Brag About" is a fun up-tempo honky tonker, "My Elusive Dreams" is pure, string-laden countrypolitan, and "The Ceremony" is a schmaltzy, narrated ballad that recalls Elvis Presley's "Are You Lonesome Tonight." Overall, SUPER HITS is a fine, if superfluous, introduction to George and Tammy's classic duets.
