Great fun indoors or out
We were excited to receive our first drone and were hoping it would be one we could learn and practice with indoors. I did not want to take a chance on having it fly away uncontrolled outside! I selected the Propel Maximum X07 for a couple of reasons. One, it is only about 7 inches in diameter, so it is not big enough to cause any damage or hurt anyone. Two, it has both a remote control and can be “trained” to react to hand motions, which will be quite fun when we get outside with it. Three, all four small rotors are fully enclosed surrounded by light weight “cage” that is flexible enough that it bounces off walls and other objects that might come in contact with it and helps to insure no fingers get into the blades. The whole total assembled weight, including the built-in lithium ion battery is only a few ounces. The package includes a charging cord small screw driver and hand held remote control and a set of replacement rotor blades! Directions specify using ONLY a USB port on a computer. Not sure if that means tablets and other portable computing devices can be used. The internal battery is not replaceable. But the remote control uses a CR2032 and that can be accessed for replacement any time necessary. The on off switch and charging plug are quite small and fragile looking, so the 14 year old age recommendation is about right, unless younger users are being supervised by an adult. So. Now for the flight fun. We have not broken anything yet! I bet setting up a flight course and having a few more of these would be a great competition.
Beginner pilot? This is the one for you
The Propel Maximum X07 model is a drone of small size -not mini, I just clarifiing-. Nice look, detailed design, easy to use and to control for beginners as specified in the box (14+). It has an Obstacle Avoidance Technology for long time durability. Easy to use remote control. It don't feel like a fragile or easy to damage and it's not exactly a toy for young kids but If you consider it for, I recommend use it in a yard or when a soft floor area or open area with grass to avoid damage it in a fall due to the finished in chrome. Light weight and easy to transport or to storage, I think it's a great drone to own as a first drone.
Nice drone!
I received this Propel X07 Hand Motion Controlled Drone and couldn't wait to open it and get it flying outside. The packaging is tight so be careful taking it out of the packaging. First thing I did was charge it for the recommended time but it is a little hard to get the charging end into the drone and it doesn't seem to fit all the way in but it charged just looks like it might bend or break eventually. It comes with a remote and a barrier around it to keep the wings from breaking or running hard into something. The first thing I did was sync it so I can use the remote and up it went. It goes forward, back and left and right. It goes up and down and has a range of about 200ft. If you get beyond the 200ft it will take off with a mind of its own. The sensing on the product is nice it doesn't run into things like previous drones I have had. It also sits down real easy with a push of the button. What is really cool though is the Hand Motion Control... it is equipped with 4 sensors which enable makes it fun for more than one person if you want. When you put your hand up the drone will stop and go away from your hand toward your friend if you want so you could make it go in a circle with your friends. Overall? I am having fun playing with this drone and I haven't lost it or broken a propeller yet, pretty durable. I received this product from the Spark Reviewer program.
