I have never played but am going to learn. That being so, I can not attest to the quality of the strings or whether or not there had been any kind of set-up prior to shipment. However, it did not take but a moment to get it in tune. From what I can tell it sounds great for being someones first guitar. Extremely light, very nice finish on all parts. I would suggest purchasing a quality cable and strap however. Both leave a bit to be desired🤷🏽‍♂️. Otherwise the amp is loud! The guitar is beautiful! And I'm excited to play rowrowrow your boat like a rock star

All solid real wood body, neck. 3 pickups work quite well, so does the whammy bar. Strings were strung so only need to tune it not trim strings with a tool. Amplifier works well as a speaker for a MP3 as well as for guitar or to play a CD through a DVD player. The backpack style case is good for high humidity areas or to keep dust off but not good for airport luggage areas. The paint and clearcoat protective finish is as good as other more expensive guitars. Solid chrome pieces on guitar and the only plastic on it is to protect the real wood (pick guard) and volume, treble knobs. Well made and worth the price they charged.
