Jofran Madison County Rustic Reclaimed Pine Farmhouse 22" Pier Bookcase

When I ordered this, I didn't realize that it came fully assembled and that I had to be home to sign for it. Shipping was free and I received a 10% discount, but I had to take time off from work to be at home when it was delivered. It was more expensive than other pieces I looked at online, so I'm assuming they added the assembly and shipping price to the cost of the item. I was supposed to get a notice to set up a delivery time and date, but instead, I was called the day before the delivery by the shipping company that told me it would be delivered the next day between 12:30 and 4:30. I had to miss 4 hours of work that day so the shipping was not free! The bookcase does look very nice and matches my other dining room furniture. The shelves are deceiving - they look like thick wood, but if you put your hand underneath them, it is just a very thin piece of wood. I had planned to display some heavier items on the shelves, but now I'm afraid that they are too heavy. I would not consider putting books or heavy items on the shelf.
