Sizing For Elves or Aliens?

I bought a 'Large' size, assuming it would fit because I had the same brand (Dive and Sail) pants ('Large' size) that fit perfectly. The top I received was way too small. At the chest there was a 6" gap between the zipper edges. I am 128 lb, 5'6" with a 37" bust. A 'Large' should fit or at least come close. Walmart website didn't have any sizing instructions. Only later did I discover from another website that this 'Dive and Sail' product has some really weird sizing (i.e., Large 2x, Large 4x, etc). Even the Large 4X would have been too small for me.
