Power Jams (CD) by Various Artists

CD. It's difficult to figure out exactly why the CCM sampler Power Jams copies so closely the style of ESPN's Jock Jams series aside from the fact that it was a successful repackaging gimmick -- you aren't going to hear any of the songs here at sporting arenas, and the play-by-play announcer and cheerleader bits in between songs don't really have anything to do with the music contained herein. Half of Power Jams consists of remixes of popular CCM hits; the other half features originals, although all the tracks are strung together in a continuous mix. Thus, listeners wanting a compilation of the familiar versions of these songs won't find it here; however, it may find favor with those who want to hear some newer versions or who would enjoy a Christian music compilation that, for a change of pace, creates a party atmosphere. ~ Steve Huey, Rovi
