Funny you should ask…

I purchased this book because I recently found out that Don Felder is a cousin to my husband's family. I bought it as a gift for my mother in law. The book is of beautiful and expected quality but I cannot review the actual story.

Coolest gift I will receive

I can't vouch for the actual book because it was a gift for a young man who plays in a band. He had mentioned wanting to read the book so I got it for him for Christmas. When he opened it up he said this will be the coolest gift I will get this year. If you know someone who loves the Eagles the book may be interesting to read.

Great Book about The Eagles!

This book is an unauthorized biography of the rock group The Eagles. Written by Eagles lead guitarist Don Felder, the book begins telling the life story of Felder himself, who grew up in sultry, humid Florida. Felder begins performing in several different bands before joining the Eagles. Of course, by far the most interesting part of the book is after Felder joins the Eagles. The author paints a picture of the personality of each member of the group in such a way that you feel you almost know them. You find out that, though very talented, Glenn Frey and Don Henley are pompous jerks who think only of themselves and think the other members of the group are just an inconvenience. In the end money, greed and a grueling touring schedule split the group apart. I thought this book was the most interesting autobiography I've ever read. Felder co-wrote the book with a female author, and it is very well written without using a bunch of five syllable words you have to look up in the dictionary. A great read!
