It's only been two weeks, so far, my wife loves the Deco Chef Countertop Ice Maker. My wife adds time to the ice making sessions. She sets the timer for an additional 4 minutes. The extra time makes the ice a little harder. For you, leaving the time as is may be the best outcome, or a -6, 2, etc. After each timed session completes, my wife separates the ice with the scoop, and puts the ice in ice bags we ordered. She doesn't like to give the just made ice, a chance to start melting. Some melting and freezing together will occur in a complete bag of frozen solid ice. Ice easily separates with ice scoop or the best way, placing your bag of ice into a plastic bag, i.e. plastic Walmart bag, or whatever you may have on hand, and drop onto your floor. Works great. The Deco Countertop 40lb Ice Maker, makes great ice, easy to use, and completely drained and wiped dry as possible, every day of use. Hope we helped with this short review.

The very best countertop ice maker I've owned and I have owned three. This machine just made ice in 110 degree heat here in Phoenix, AZ at the lake last weakened. Not one problem all weakened and it didn't even drop my battery voltage enough to notice, I think it was 1.5 or 2 amps while making the ice and that only a very short time. Remember, it was 110 to 112 degrees out.
