Who is Jonathan? - an approachable country vicar regarded as an inspired speaker and loyal friend. Fearless and energetic he spends time with lonely and vulnerable people while his mind is in turmoil following his wife's sudden death and growing doubts about his faith. But then his recklessness leads to a frightening tangle of consequences more complex than he could have foreseen. Meanwhile his old friend George is developing something very unusual and entertaining at the Manor House nearby which draws people in from all over the country.
