Relatively to its size, Israel is very involved in International Business. The Israeli high tech industry is well positioned among the top five world leaders in the field.Israel while small is experiencing a constant growth in expatriate managers. Israel is part of the Western World and yet there is little research related to the activities of Israeli Multi-national Corporations, to Israeli Expatriate Management, or to tacit knowledge transfer activities of Israeli expatriate managers. Retention of Israeli expatriate managers upon completion of their assignments has also not been examined. This study examines the activity of Israeli expatriate managers in trans-ferring tacit knowledge to home offices during their assignments . While on assignment, an expatriate manager acquire valuable know-ledge. Should this knowledge be lost because of attrition, upon com-pletion of an assignment, this would cause an considerable loss to the company. Hence the use for a study on retention.
