If you're a fan of rock and roll you HAVE to read this book. A stellar, fun, and revealing read. If you don't Kooper and his background, you'll be amazed. Al's been involved and played with so many iconic bands/musicians. Yes, I'm a big fan (even "Who Wears Shorts Shorts") and go back to his NYC Blues Project days (saw them live...wow!), and then the creation of Blood, Sweat, and Tears (get the first BS&T album, not the second one with Clayton-Thomas lead singer), Dylan, Mike Bloomfield, Stills (Super Session), Rolling Stones (plays the intro to Can't Always Get What You Want" on french horn!), discovers countless bands and produces Lynard Skynard, etc. etc. Why Al Kooper is not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a mystery!!
