Rancid cornmeal

I opened my bag of cornmeal yesterday and made cornbread as I have for years. When I rated it it tasted like something that had soured. I didn’t dream corn meal cpuld aour so checked eggs milk and oil and all were. Ok. My husband agreed. When I googled it it said cornmeal could turn rancid. What a surprise , I am 73 year old and have never heard that.

I was really disappointed when the way the shipping was handled. I received 2 damaged packages of Martha White Self-Rising Corn Meal Mix. It was displeasing because it’s hard to find this cornmeal mix in the store. NOT ONE PACKAGE DAMAGED BUT BOTH (2). Leaking out the BOX plus SPILLAGE ALL IN THE INSIDE OF THE BOX. The only good thing about it was I got refunded. I really wanted them just send replacements but they could only refund. Hopefully when I reorder they not be damaged again.
