I have medium-large acorns and wasnt sure what size to buy. This size worked great, so to help others wondering.... The medium nut gatherer will pick up between grape and ping pong ball sized acorns/nuts. Maybe larger or smaller, but this was my experience. It will crush more fragile nuts, but I didn't mind that.
