[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Prilosec OTC can start to work on the very first day of treatment, but can take up to 4 days for full effect (I felt better so much better on the third day). It says to take Prilosec OTC every day for 14 days helps to ensure that acid production is consistently controlled. I felt so much better after day three I couldn't believe it! I finished the 14-day treatment and felt like a new person. No more constant heartburn for me. I bought the 14 count size but, it comes in other size packages. I like that I take just one pill in the morning and my stomach feels better for 24 hours. The timed-release pill works very well for me. Prilosec OTC works differently than other products I've tried in that it shuts down the pumps in the stomach that create stomach acid. It stopped my heartburn in its tracks! It's backed by science and I trust the brand. Finally, a treatment for frequent heartburn that works for me. I talked to my doctor before taking this as I am on other medicine and I wanted to be sure that this wouldn't interfere. Thankfully my doctor gave me the ok and I started my treatment.
