Trey Valentine has just completed a night of gambling at Diamond Jim's, when he is accosted by a young woman from The Philadelphia House, a local brothel. Despite inner warnings not to get involved with her, Valentine finds himself embroiled in a mysterious situation the next morning, when he awakens with amnesia. That night, when the gambler attempts to pursue his usual habits, he is inundated by desires to return to the brothel, and find that woman who seduced him.
