need ID and OD sizes

the description is wrong or they do not know how to use id or od the od is 2 3/8 the id is 2 1/4 looking for n od of 2 1/4 so this is being returned, shipping was fast but not the correct item

I see why I found a lot of reviews that said an adapter did not fit when I searched to find the part I needed. I saw the cautions to measure the mating part before ordering to insure compatibility. I am an Engineer. I am used to doing just that. Measuring and verifying specs. Yet, after doing all of that, and expecting success, when I received this part that was supposed to fit my Shop Vac brand, it did not fit!!!! Root causing this, I have to say that the product description that was provided was inadequate. I expected a 2 1/4 inch outside diameter. I received a 2 1/4 inch inside diameter. What a waste when just a little better information could prevent this. Need to clearly state the inside and outside diameter in the product description. It only takes a few more key strokes to do this.
