SHARP LED Digital Alarm Clock, Swivel Base, Alarm, Snooze, Brightness Dimmer, Black Case -White LED

Don't need instructions to figure out how to set time and alarm. The white digits make it very easy to read. The large size of the digits makes it readable from across the room. A defect shared by many clocks is lack of keeping time during a power outage. When power is restored, this clock blinks starting at 12:00. The 9V battery is supposed to keep the clock tracking time during an outage, but doesn't work in this clock. I have 2 other clocks the same brand and model (except red LEDs instead of white), and they all lose the time in an outage. The battery is not to keep the clock lit during an outage, but is supposed to keep the clock on time when power is restored, but doesn't work with this clock even with a new battery. No point in wasting money on a 9V battery since this clock won't use it to keep time during an outage. While a nuisance after a power outage to reset the time, I like everything else about this clock. I wasn't sure white LEDs were better than red, but white is definitely more visible than read. While not the absolute biggest LEDs you can get in a clock, these are more than tall enough (1.8") to see across the room. Has 2 intensity settings. I leave it on high. This is positioned in the middle of the room. If it were on a nightstand, high is probably too bright alongside the bed, so low is an option. The swivel base is handy as I can place the clock at the edge of a shelf, but rotate the display to better view across the room, without the base hanging over the edge. Alarm is loud enough to wake me, but wish the high volume setting were a bit louder (to jar me out of bed when there is a critical appointment, and ensure I don't ignore the alarm). I'm not a heavy sleeper, but those who are might want a louder bed-shaking volume.

that was very different to one i had was red this one is white. even dimming has my eyes sore its almost like a night light. recommend to anyone that dont have sensitive eyes.
