Enjoyable Contemporary Romance!

It's one thing for a tough bull rider to agree to care for a baby temporarily, but what happens when the situation threatens to become permanent and the baby's mother turns out to be an old flame? Author Heidi McCahan shares a touching story of two people who've made many mistakes, have very mixed feelings about each other, but still want the very best for one special little girl. Landon Chambers proves his true worth as he struggles to take care of the very sweet Adeline, and I admired his true dedication, but I must admit that the toddler's mother was a little annoying at times. Yes, Kelsey had issues from the past, and she was honoring a military commitment, but it was still hard to accept her attitude and her treatment of Landon. She couldn't believe that he wasn't still the person who had hurt her so deeply. She couldn't accept that he had changed! Second chances play a big part in McCahan's plot, and isn't that what we all need sometimes? A second chance to make amends, and perhaps a second chance at romance? The Bull Rider's Fresh Start is an engaging story of hope, redemption and forgiveness, and I recommend it to all who enjoy contemporary romance. I voluntarily accepted a copy of this book and there was no obligation for a favorable review. These are my own thoughts.

Wonderful Hero!

The Bull Rider's Fresh Start is a sweet story about Landon finding out he has a baby girl that he knew nothing about. From the moment he realizes that he is a father he only wants to be part of his daughter's life and be the best father that he can. Unfortunately, there is an obstacle in his way, Adeline's mom, Kelsey, a navy diver. Kelsey had not told Landon about the baby and had left Adeline with her brother while she went back to work for the navy. Now she is home and has to make another plan for Adeline before she goes back to fulfill her commitment to the army. Landon had a room full of trophies and awards from his reign as a world-champion bull rider. but an angry, two-thousand-pound bull was far less terrifying than a crying baby. I really liked Landon. I appreciated that he had turned his life around and was willing to take responsibility for his little girl. I loved that he turned to God and was real about his struggles. He was a good hero for the story and a lot more patient than I would have been. Few things made her swoon-but evidently an incredibly attractive man holding her baby girl was one of them. I could not relate to Kelsey. I know that leaving her baby with her brother while she went back to the navy had to be a difficult decision. When she is forced home and finds out Landon has the baby I feel like she completely over reacts. No, she doesn't know him well, but she completely judges him without ever giving him the chance to tell her he has changed. His actions prove that he is dependable and a man of his word, yet she is still so rude to him and overprotective of Adeline with him. I was able to relate to Kelsey in the way she was raised with her mom, but again, her complete lack of trust with all men felt over the top. The dialogue flowed smoothly and the story moved at a good pace. Adeline was good comic relief to the tension that the two main characters brought to the story. While the book was not as light as I would have liked, the ending brought everything together. Thank you to JustRead and the author for the opportunity to read this book. I was not required to give a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
