Good for fast document and book copying.
The installation was somewhat of a problem as some of the folders had Chinese names and a little confusing. I copied the full directory from the CD and installed from my own hard drive and that worked OK. Once installed, it all works fine, the software seems easy to use. It works great as a low resolution copier - documents, books etc. However not meant for photographs or higher resolution info. Very fast with the pictures. My use is for copying old historical record books and documents. It seems to have autofocuse as I tried a closeup and a longer distance scan and they looked OK. Probably about 200 dpi resolution.

I bought this scanner to make a digital copy of some old diaries of a relative with whom my mother stayed when she was 14. The diaries were part of a library collection and it would have been impractical to try to use a flatbed scanner. The scanner supposedly came with software, but the link provided didn't work, and the mini-CD Rom that was included in the package was in Chinese, and I couldn't figure out how to extract the files. Nonetheless, the scanner works like a camera, and produces decent images. It plugs directly into a USB port on a computer, and when you open the Windows Camera app, you can take an instant picture, turn the page, and take more pictures. The scanner is very compact and works well with a laptop computer. I have looked at fancier scanners that have more features, but for $50 this one did what I needed.
