There's no way around it really. you have to invert the unrolled rug to flatten it out. This rug is heavy which means it's durable. We placed super heavy books and turned our sectional on its side to give more weight without leg marks. Once rolled out and flattened, it hugged tight to the floor with no chance of moving.
