Better Homes & Gardens 16" ADA Compliant Bathroom Grab Bar, Satin Nickel

We love our new grab bar! This is a very nice looking bar, not too industrial but it's really strong, even though it looks pretty! It can hold up to 500 pounds, however, you must must must put this where there are studs in the wall. (if you want to use it as a towel holder no, but if you're going to grab it, yes!) That was the only hard part for us... our bathroom was built a little odd, and the stud was close to the tile so it's a little awkward to grab it from the tub without leaning far forward- but that's not the bar's fault lol. It is very sturdy feeling though, and is thick enough to grab easily. I will say to please use caution if your hands are wet, as the smooth round surface can be slippery if you're not aware or careful with that. So be aware of that. As far as looks, it's really pretty and I don't mind it, and it matches my towel ring too! I was thinking that I might buy another one for a totally different purpose- as a bar to hang my herbs from in the kitchen. I have some cute white little bucket planters and I think it would look nice to use one of these bars to hang the buckets from. We have nickle handles on our cabinets so it would match nicely. Again, if it's not holding weight, you can put it anywhere. (with weight again, please remember to use the wall studs!) It was not difficult to install- I think my towel ring gave me more grief to install. The directions are easy and it comes with all the screws, like these things should!
