The text of 'The Gardener' has been copyedited with reference to the original publication (Macmillan, 1917) that we have in our collection. Tagore used local names for some trees and flowers in his translation. We have added an appendix giving more information on these local names for the international readers. Rabindranath Tagore's poems, songs, and short stories are ageless jewels of humanity. They are now in the public domain. The reader will be able to read free online and download free from various websites. The Gardener was first published by the Macmillan Company, New York in 1913. Its facsimile version can be freely read online at and downloaded from Google Books. However, with the thought that the reader would like to treasure a printed copy we have designed this lovely book worthy of a collector's showcase. The earlier publication of this format with a similar cover design by our sister imprint Khan Publications (ISBN 13: 978-1-928840-08-4) has been discontinued.
