I confess, I bought this set for the mini Monster High figures, spending an hour building the sets was just a bonus. (it would have taken less time perhaps if the cat hadn't been helping!) You get 8 adorable Miniature Monster high dolls, and then the blocks to build their music sets -which are rather creatively assembled. 128 Pieces to build with. I followed the directions and as I said, it took me about an hour to assemble it all. - including the time it took to pry the girls out of their packaging! Geeze!
The figures are precious! They disassemble enough that if you really wanted to, you could swap around bits of their outfits. Legs and arms do come off the main bodies, and the bodies section into smaller parts ( See Included instructions!) I thought it was fun that you could swap around their wig pieces - though Catty and Clawdeen's ears are attached to the wig, and Catty's tail is part of her skirt. Not to mention her bodice carries her body color, so it might look odd on any of the other ghouls. Same with Cleo's painted on sleeves etc.. but.
I Do love the set. It does only get 4 stars from me, because the pieces included are much like a model building set, rather than a creative building set. Following the directions, you can build the sets pictured on the box, but IMO it's somewhat limited at becoming anything else. Perhaps If your child has a lot of these sets.. But by itself it seems your not going to build much other than what was intended .
I feel this set is an Excellent value for the price, you get so many of the main characters, and the bonus of their music sets. The dolls have a wonderful resemblance to their larger counterparts and they look wonderful as a miniature display. Very happy with My purchase, and I will probably find myself buying a few more..
