Well built

The Eagle Scout in our family was very happy to receive the Trekker model. Out of the box the swiss army knife felt very well built. Some of the tools are hard to unfold but i would think this should loosen over time. The locking main blade is a nice addition to this knife.

As good as you remember

I've owned Victorinox Swiss Army Knives going back to my childhood, and as far as I can tell this is one company whose product hasn't gone downhill over time. Their blades were always very sharp and very high polish stainless steel, and they still are. This particular model has a few features that my old one didn't though that make it more desirable to me now as an adult. The blade is longer, wavy, and handle more ergonomic, but most importantly the blade locks open. This is a vital safety feature to me. The wave blade is my new favorite thing for cutting rope or paracord - much easier than a flat or even serrated edge. Great gift for a man imo, nerd and outdoorsman alike would love it. Honestly surprised to see my local Walmart stocked this elevated version of a timeless classic. Recommended for sure!
