This is one of those items that you need but you don't really want to invest a ton of money. For my guest futon/reading nook, this was a perfect purchase. It's easily adjustable to use a laptop, but also easily moved so that it's handy to put your beverage upon. The quality could be better as it was easily scratched when assembling, but whatever!
