Hindsight gives a better view of the outcome.

In hindsight I have realized that Truman made an extremely difficult decision to drop the A bombs on Japan. Not only did he save the lives of well over a million Allied Soldiers, but he saved the lives of the remains Japanese soldiers (several million), and more importantly the lives of tens of millions of Japanese civilians. Without the use of the atomic weapons the Japanese military and the emperor were content to only loose an estimated 200,000 civilian lives each day (night) of firebombing which had already been going on for several months since the American invasion and the subsequent occupation of Okinawa! Americans found out that the Japanese civilians were just as fanatical as their soldiers, in following their Emperor. This view and the subsequent rule of General Douglas MacArthur, helping Japan's recovery period, were not brought out in the history book. All the facts were accurate, and the readers were entertained well, but instead of trying to cover up or blame the two heroic gentlemen, I decided that too much of the real outcome was too apologetic toward the Japanese people. Only my opinion. I enjoyed the factual story,
