In full transparency, I wear a Breitling Superocean most of the time. I bought this watch as a beater watch so I have something that I don't care if it gets scratched or banged up, or when I don't want to give off the wrong impression wearing an expensive watch. People can be weird about things like that.
The Timex Waterbury is amazing quality for a watch in that price range. Stainless case and bracelet has decent weight to it. They clearly took design cues from the DateJust 41, but that's what I like about it. I find this hilarious in a good way. If you're mad about this fact, then you're out of your league and focused on the wrong things. There are cheaper options for you in the Timex range. Overall great watch that looks awesome, has decent weight to it, and comes in nice packaging. Price to quality makes sense.
I really don't understand the anger in the reviews. These people clearly are buying for the wrong reasons, are cheap and expect the world from a $180 watch lol, or seem to be looking for weird features from previous styles (indiglo lol). Buy this watch with the understanding it's not a Rolex, but that it's as sleek as a Rolex without the price or the responsibility. And for god sales people, get your watch bracelet sized properly it will look a million times better!
