An oolong for those who don't love strong oolongs.

This tea is missing most notes you'd get from a more traditional heavily oxidized oolong, specifically the deeper nutty and roasted flavors. To me this tea tastes more like a blend of Sri Lanka Ceylon black tea mixed with a Huangshan Maofeng mild green tea. It has an inoffensive forward floral note, almost no bitterness, and a pretty distinct Sri Lanka black tea finish. It's not a bad tea by any measure. But, as someone who likes an oolong to have a thick mouthfeel and dark earthy/nutty flavors (some have described my oolong flavor preferences as 'swamp water') this is a tea that fails to really distinguish itself from many similar tasting imported oolongs that are trying not to be offensive to the western palate. If you're someone who is drinking oolong solely for the health benefits, and you're not actually fond of the flavor of more oxidized oolongs, this might be a tea for you. But, unfortunately for me, I will finish these boxes (eventually) and move on to something else, as this is not the flavor profile I'm personally looking for in an oolong. I don't regret buying and trying it, but it won't be a repeat order.
